Our Future Home

Dh and I did the Parade of Homes this weekend. We got some really great ideas for when we build and surprisingly not too many looks as we wondered into the $929,000 house that's 3 times the place we live in now. Perhaps we pull off the young, rich heir look, no?

I think we even found the builder we'll use. He's local. We loved 2 of the houses we saw this weekend...enough to even go back there on Sunday. His prices are right. Small business. Offers a discount because we're local to him. So all gravy, right?

We reviewed all our notes and drew up this floorplan only to realize that we forgot to add in our office. I'm kinda pissed because I love the way it is now. Granted it's not totally to scale. I'm not an architect so things could be wrong already...but in my head it's symetrical! lolz.

13. Replace chandelier in kitchen over dining table--CHECK

DH finally got around to putting up our new light fixture for over the dining table. Nothing fancy. I just hated the 1970s version of what we had before.

Might be a PW this week since I'm distracting myself and trying to get the damn peestick off the front page. Hmph.

Totally forgot to mention...

WE'RE GOING ON A VACAY!!!

Whoo hoo!

The ILs have a condo in Michigan that they leave here to spend the summer every year. They offered to pay all our expenses for the week. We plan to go to a large music festival that they have there. They also bought a boat and a jetski in prep for our visit. Yes, you heard me correctly. THEY FREAKING BOUGHT A BOAT AND A JETSKI SINCE WE'RE GOING TO COME. They go every year and are just now buying these. I kinda feel bad, but I enjoy a free ride...it's not like we asked. They begged.

A friend of theirs lives nearby and he offered to help us with designing our house. ::hypervenilates:: Free home design. Must.prepare.all.ideas.NOW!!!

So, another month of the 30 day shred or I will be looking like overstuffed sausage in my tankini. Joy.

Cleaning house

We still don't know where DH will be stationed. This week will start his "wait" or as I like to call it, his unemployment status. But, a guy he worked with out of state got stationed near our house and he lives about 5 hours away so we offered him to stay here during the week. So not only do I get my husb back, but also a roommate. This will work wonders for my only-child self!

Hopefully, DH will get stationed at the same place as he is so they can ride together and save on gas. So, I'm cleaning the house, trying to declutter the guest room. But, I wanted to be lazy today :( Pooper.

Where the action happens...

We bought a new dining set for Christmas, but it came in scratched. I got aggravated at the company so didn't reorder another one. Then I couldn't find something else relatively inexpensive that I liked. Found this set about 2 weeks ago. We picked it up and DH put it together Saturday.

I lurve it. We had a bulky 6 seater, but I wanted something smaller. We don't have a dining room, but still never really use the table anyway! lol.

Now I need to get a new centerpiece for the table.

Long and random

Yesterday was an awesome day on many levels.

I finally got to use a gift certificate for a massage that my mom bought for me for Christmas 2007. I assumed it was a half hour one and was pleasantly surprised when the masseuse started rubbing on my legs. Although, I have not shaved in a couple weeks probably since it's been so cold. So she was in for a little treat! And my butt got some love. Instead of the normal poking/pushing, it got full-palm groping. Sweet!

But this extra half hour made us late for dinner with my longtime childhood friend who is 15 wks pg and her husband. They got married 2 weeks before us so we caught up on the times and shared wedding pics. I had many glances from DH when she'd do something in reference to her pregnancy or talk about something pg-related. I can tell he's really anxious and ready to get to trying!

After that we met up with DH's crazy ass sister and her crazy ass friend to go out. They came in from OOT because both of their husbands are on a bachelor party in Vegas. Did I mention they're crazy? Well, yeah the night was wild and we got some good pics! They're sending them to me later. We went barhopping with them and my cousins and their friends. Much fun! DH and I celebrated silently what MAY be my last night out, drinking. ::fingers crossed:: He leaves for his work turnaround tomorrow and will be gone until March. I probably will be a bump on a log until he gets home; aside from V Day weekend that I'm going up to visit him. This is also the weekend I'll be ovulating so we'll have good timing on that one, hopefully. I drank too much. Stunk outrageously when I woke up this morning. But fortunately I'm not hungover!

So yeah, that was yesterday.

Today, we're getting a new hot water heater since ours is crap and is now soaking my many pairs of shoes in our closet. Don't ask why someone would put a water heater in the closet. I'm just glad to have regularly scheduled hot water and dry shoes. Little joys in life I tell ya.

Well, this is getting to be a novel...

Garage sale SCORE!!!

We had a garage sale at my cousin's house Friday and Saturday. It was 4 families. We totalled almost $2,000! DH and I collected about $330. I'm so excited! All that for crap that was laying around the house, not getting used. We're putting it in our baby fund!

Getting Organized!

So we're starting the year off by getting organized. The house is in such disarray from the holidays, the wedding and everything!

First off: the guest bedroom

Closet is first! We had a cluster eff of a guest bedroom closet where we store some off-season clothes and misc crap. We got one of the Rubbermaid Configurations system (I asked for it for Christmas!). There's a bottom shelf that's adjustable. Shoe bag hanger thing is on door for my extra shoes, because I have a million pair! lol.

We also put a shelf hangy thing in there because I have a bunch of t-shirts that are overflowing our dresser so I'll probably throw some of them in there too. I'm so excited. We still have like 5 big things to work on for organizing the house. I guess it's an early Spring Cleaning!
